Toxins are part of our life. The presence of chemicals is in cleaning products and food and water. To detox and cleanse our body from the inside out from all this, we don’t need starvation diets. Fresh fruits and vegetables, as well as an active, low-stress lifestyle, help our body’s natural detox more than any other product.

Does the Body Need To Detox?
Regardless of how you eat, the body is always detoxing. The liver, kidneys, colon, and to some extent, the skin and lungs, are continuously processing toxins and contaminants and removing them from the body.

When we think about “detox” or “cleansing” on Detox Green Smoothies, we refer to cleaning up our diet by consuming food that supports the body’s natural cleansing abilities.

Therefore, a “detox green smoothie” doesn’t start detoxification in the body, but comes in support of good health and the functioning of your detoxification organs.

Healthy types of Cleanses are not liquid starvation diets or powdered detox supplements. A short-term course of green smoothies (and smoothie bowls) can break the cycle of bad eating habits and low energy.

Green smoothies can feed the body and give a fresh start.

A few specific green smoothie ingredients go above and beyond in promoting cleansing. These are water-rich, fiber-rich organic fruits, those bitter leafy greens (dandelion, kale), with other ingredients that stimulate digestion.

Fresh fruits and vegetables are the best in supporting a clean, healthy body. Rich in water they are hydrating. They are full of fiber, supporting a healthy colon (the body’s primary detox organ). The ultimate cleansing fruits include citrus (orange, grapefruit, lemon, and lime).

In many fruits and vegetables remains of pesticides are toxic, and are very dangerous to our health.
Strawberries, apples, stone fruit (peaches, nectarines, cherries), and grapes, as well as greens like spinach and kale, due to the high level of pesticides used on these products while grown, they may have higher levels of residues when sold. Therefore, it is best always to get organic food.

Many fruits are treated with fungicides to prevent mold and extend shelf life, too. While these chemical treatments are considered safe, many people prefer to buy fruit that hasn’t been treated, or coated with wax to enhance appearance.
Dark, leafy greens play a significant role in supporting good health. Leafy greens, rich in minerals and containing antioxidants are known to protect against diseases. That’s why they give you superpowers!

Leafy greens contain large amounts of chlorophyll, and even though there is limited clinical evidence, many natural health experts say that chlorophyll promotes healthy blood and cleanses the body.

Bearing all this in mind, here you have the Detox Green Smoothie: you feel healthier simply looking at it!
